Commissioned work: consruction of the Lotus Plant ceramic and copper fountain.
These photos show the fountain that I assembled for Donna Douglas, owner and
operator of Hawks Ridge Retreat in Floyd County, VA.
The ceramic
pieces are of Donna's construction and design, fired years ago and left in a box
since that time, waiting. I constrcuted the copper framework that brings
the pieces together create teh Lotus plant fountain. The water is pumped
to the highest point and allowed to drain over he edge of each leaf successively
until it reaches the pool in which it stands. The sound is gentle and
soothing as is the green color of the leaves and verdigris patina'd
copper.
