Maintenance day...
Oil change w/ Redline Synthetic 5W-40 @ 148692 miles

Ordered the antenna adapter.

11-18-16

I gave Annalisa her birthday present early. Sirius S50
The installation wasn't too tricky, the way I did it, but there are some issues. The whole FM transmitter thing doesn't really work. We're using a tape casette adapter thingie for now, given to me by my friend Hank, and that works, but there are a lot of messy wires. I ordered an FM modulator and tried to install it. Unfortunately the 9-5 has one of those new-fangled style antennas and it doesn't fit. Soooo... I gotta order an adapter cable.

Had two new keys cut and the Ebay keyfobs programmed to the car. Unfortunately, in the process the door lock was broken and the car now shows a message on the SID "Service Theft Alarm".

Well it went kinda like this...
We'd been looking for a new car for Annalisa but we needed it to be, like the porridge, "just right".

I was under the impression we were looking for an Aero wagon, automatic and blue. Time passed and suddenly my impression was all wrong. Actually, as it turned out, we were looking for an Aero sedan, manual and any color that was light (so blue was out). We demanded a complete service history with better than standard oil changes. Mileage was unimportant. I like a high mileage car, it is "proven". Most of the cars that fit our requirements were way out of our range but suddenly this car showed up...

A 2000 9-5 Aero sedan with a manual transmission and in silver, with a ton of miles but a spotless and complete service history was for sale under comission at Sports Car Service, Inc. The high mileage made it actually well within our price range and so it quickly became ours.
