This is what I came up with for a solution. My brother-in-law Jeremy kindly provided the services of his milling machine and made me an angled intermediate plate, to replace the one that was on the car before. This one is 3/8 of an inch shorter in the back than it is in the front. That levels out the carburetor to perfectly flat.
